HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE COURSES?

This is up to you! Each course is divided into 18 lessons. If one lesson is completed each week, the course will take 18 weeks (or 2 school quarters). However, many families report moving through the lessons at a quicker pace.

do WE HAVE TO COMPLETE EVERY ASSIGNMENT?

Our curriculum is designed to offer a variety of assignments. These may include written class notes, writing assignments, map project, research projects, quizzes and exams. Parents may decide that not all of these assignments serve their student and may choose to skip, alter or adjust the assignments.

how are the online courses graded?

All of our curriculum is designed to be parent/teacher led and graded. While a suggested grading rubric is provided, parents do determine which assignments should be completed and what grade the student earned. Parents and teachers will find an answer key and a parent/teacher guide in the "Additional Information" tab at the end of the course to help with this.

Do the high school classes meet with the Alaska state credit requirements?

Yes. The high school curriculum was designed with the state of Alaska High School Graduation requirements in mind.

Can I use these materials in the classroom?

Each of our classes were designed to be used in the home school setting. As such, when purchasing the online curriculum, enrollment is limited to the students in that family for one year (example: Alaska History can be taken by 9th and 10th grader of the same family together for $275). If you are interested in using the materials for a public or charter school setting, please email us for classroom license pricing.
